Welcome!

Hello and welcome to Simply Yoga.

Yoga is a path or journey.  Each time we step onto the mat to begin our asana practice or sit on a chair or cushion to meditate we are taking another step along that path.  We are not quite sure where this path may lead but we travel confident  that, as we progress, we are improving our own lives and those of the people we come into contact with.

As T.K.V. Desikachar so wisely said, “The success of yoga does not lie in the ability to perform postures but in how it positively changes the way we live our life and our relationships”.

I aim to write about all aspects of yoga and mindfulness.  I’m particularly interested in the way that modern science is uncovering the profound benefits these technologies have to offer.

If your main interest is to develop a knowledge and understanding of yoga postures you could have a look at the  Asana blog.  If you want to find out more about breathing techniques you could check out the   Pranayama  section.   

Mindfulness is a practice which can do so much to help us lead more tranquil lives even  amidst the pressures of the contemporary world. It is also integral to yoga.  The Mindfulness blog will offer suggestions from my own experience if you are keen to know more.
